About This Website

In 2026 the Murray River Retriever Association replaced its old website and membership system with this one. The aim was a club that is easier to run, easier to join and easier to trust. Like most breed clubs, MRRA runs on a small group of volunteers, and the work they did by hand - retyping forms, chasing renewals, keeping the Dog Register in step with the membership list - was taking more of their time every year. The new website does that work for them, so their time goes to the dogs and the members.

Built by Pearce IT

Pearce IT designed and built the systems that run the club behind these pages. It took many weeks of design, building and testing, working through the club’s Rules clause by clause so that the website does exactly what the Rules say. What Pearce IT built:

  • Membership - joining and renewing online, committee acceptance as the Rules require, renewal reminders, one login for a family and a membership card on your phone.
  • The Dog Register - every dog linked to its owner in My Dogs, with the Registrar approving every change in one place.
  • The Breeder Portal - litters and puppies notified online, stud requests approved by the stud dog’s owner, and a search for dogs available for breeding.
  • Puppies and the Law - 24 checklists that combine each State’s breeding law with MRRA’s rules, and a stud service agreement anyone can fill in and print.
  • Check a Breeder or Puppy - a public register lookup that helps buyers avoid scams, without ever showing who owns a dog.
  • Rescue and puppy enquiries - dogs looking for a new home, and puppy enquiries matched to breeders with a litter.
  • For members - the Murray Mail archive, training videos, the members’ directory and Over the Rainbow Bridge.
  • For the committee - each officer has screens for their own job, so a new volunteer can take one on without learning the whole website.
  • Privacy and security - no email addresses on public pages for spammers to collect, location data removed from photos, and members’ details kept out of public view. Pearce IT also hosts and looks after the site.

Pearce IT is a Melbourne business providing managed IT support, cyber security, IT consulting and website development and SEO. It builds club membership software with a breed register for breed clubs, breed societies and other not-for-profit clubs, and the same system suits clubs for cats, horses and livestock. Designed by B Creative Graphic Design

The design of this website was built by B Creative Graphic Design. B Creative carried the club’s previous website across into WordPress and Divi, keeping the look and the content members already knew, which gave the new system a familiar front door from day one.

B Creative designs custom, affordable websites, logos and branding, and business printing, and now wedding websites and stationery too. See B Creative’s work.
